The tour will take you to visit and taste along the most fascinating destinations and its specialties in the north of Vietnam; tranquility ancient Duong Lam village with rice and vegetable fields, old architecture; birthplace of Vietnamese water puppetry Hai Phong; ancient royal capital Ninh Binh with karts mountains, rivers and caves, pagodas and marvellous Ha Long Bay. You will experience the history and civilization rice of Vietnam in hundreds of years ago and enjoy its great authentic food.

Day 1 Hanoi - Duong Lam ancient village - Eat with local - Sleeping in homestay (D)

Drive to ancient Duong Lam village. Begin cycling to Mong Phu village, discover old houses made of red literate and rammed soil, most of the village architectures still remain original such as the village gate, the communal well and the temple courtyard. Continue cycling to Phung Hung & Ngo Quyen temples - home of nation’s “hero Kings”, stop on way to chatting and play with children at kinder garden. Our lunch today is with host in ancient house.

Spend the afternoon cycle through the footpaths of the village, discover the surrounding with farming communities, chat with local people about their daily life, help with ploughing or making rice beds, transplanting seedlings, harvesting rice (or cassava, corn, sweet potatoes...) depending on the harvest season, collecting tea and all medicinal herbs.

We of course stop in local market to buy some ingredient for our cooking with host for dinner. Refresh yourself with a bath of herbs according to traditional style.
After candlelit dinner in yard, you will learn about Vietnamese tradition through observation of specially Buddha worship. The "Spa" foot will bring you a nice sleeping in tranquility atmosphere of countryside.

Day 2 Moon Garden Homestay - Ninh Binh - Trang An Natue Reserve - Bai Dinh pagoda (B, L, D)

People in northern Vietnam has a habit of getting up early, especially in rural areas, you don’t need to get up early but should not too late to joining very interesting exercise with local people. Drive to Ninh Ninh, we visit Trang An Nature Reserve - a newly discovered beauty with karts mountains, rivers and caves… We drive to Bai Dinh pagoda for vegetarian lunch then stroll in solemn and quiet atmosphere of the pagoda. Overnigh in Ninh Binh.

Day 3 Ninh Binh - Thung Nang Cycling - Water Puppet Show - Hai Phong

Enjoy Thung Nang’s pleasant mountain scenery by boat and bicycle. Taste Ninh Binh specialties in local restaurant. Afternoon, discover the birthplace of Vietnamese water puppetry followed by outdoor performance before process to Hai Phong. Explore Hai Phong local market and enjoy the dinner with its specialties seafood.

Day 4 Taste like local in Hai Phong - fantastic Ha Long Bay cruise

We will enjoy breakfast with the locals in their familiar food then drive to Ha Long Bay. Explore the picturesque scenery of the bay from refurbished wooden junk with many activities: swimming, kayaking, floating village…. Overnight on board.

Day 5 Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi

Continue cruise though Ha Long Bay’s lagoon, beaches and cave visit. Board check out at noon time, return to Ha Noi via Bat Trang ceramic village in the afternoon.

• Deposit and Payment: 30% of total invoice should be deposit at the time of booking for guarantee. Final payment is no later than 7days in advance of arrival date.
• Cancellation: If cancelling less than 15 days, the deposit is non-refundable. After final payment is received a cancellation fee of approximately 75% applies. This percentage may be less depending on the date of cancellation. A cancellation fee of 100% is applicable within 03 days of travel.
• Pricing: All prices are shown in American dollars and are current at the date of printing this itinerary. If there is a dramatic fluctuation in the exchange rate or the price of services provided, which are beyond the control of Vietnam Food Tour, VFT reserves the right to adjust tour prices accordingly, even though the balance of payment may have been made. This would only happen in unusual circumstances.
• Itinerary Validity and Content: This itinerary is valid until 2015, unless otherwise specified. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy. Vietnam Food Tour shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss caused by any inaccuracy. Vietnam Food Tour reserves the right to change tour arrangements or accommodations due to safety or security reasons, and will endeavor to provide alternative arrangements of the same standard as that originally booked.
• Special Requirements: Please advise Vietnam Food Tour of any special requirements such as Special Meals, Medical Requirements etc., as soon as possible. If you get motion sickness, it is imperative that you bring with you motion sickness pills as we travel by coach and boat sometimes in our tour.
• Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend you organize travel insurance before departure in your country. Insurance covers cancellation fees payable for airline tickets, accommodation, loss of deposit, luggage etc.
• Clients’ Responsibilities: It is your responsibility to obtain passports, health certificates or other travel documents where required for the tour. It remains your responsibility to ensure that these documents are in order and to meet any additional costs incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements. It is also your responsibility to obtain any vaccinations that may be required to travel.
