About Water spinach fry with garlic ( Rau muốn xào tỏi )

Water spinach ( or glory morning ) is a popular vegetable in the countryside of Vietnam. It grows in the garden or near the drain. The farmers often pich them after the working time and bring to home. It could be ingredients to boild ( the broth is awesome with lemon juice added and enjoy with Ca Phao ), or fry with garlic.

In the cites, you could find them as a snack to drink beer. What's a pity in some country, it's not allow to grow, it's not poison but as a kind of wild vegetable.

Now time to cook!


  • 1 bunch of water spinach
  • 3-4 big cloves of garlic
  • Salt, seasoning, oil
  • Lemon (if favor)


  1. Prepare: Take water spinach short breaks, remove the old stalks, and keep the young stems. If like to eat a lot of stems, remove the leaves, keep leaves and stems. Peel garlic and chop.
  2. Fry water spinach first, note to put water spinach when you just pour cooking oil, dont keep cooking oil too heat. And add the salt.
  3. Fry in about 10 minutes, look the color change from light green to green. Put chopped garlic in and fry in 2 minute. Turn off fire and add seasoning. That's you have a delicious vegetable.
